Firm Foundation
/I hear Father whisper "firm foundation" as I look at the pictures below. As these Zambians lay the foundation for Brexton's House by hand, my heart is reminded that we must also lay a firm foundation in our own lives. The Stone MUST be what we build upon. "The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone." Psalm 118:22.
I love the simplicity of the first picture because there is no heavy machinery or equipment to get the job done quickly. In a world full of quick fixes and microwave answers I am also reminded that after we have made Jesus our firm foundation the best way to "build" our faith is by daily coming with our wheelbarrow of "great and precious promises" (2 Peter 1:4) from His Word and laying them each by hand.
As Brexton's House is built first and foremost upon the Chief Cornerstone, now every stone that is placed will be solid, strong and sturdy! Similarly, when our foundation is solidified in Jesus, no storm, no lie of the enemy and no demon from hell can knock us down! “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” Matthew 7:24-25
We continue to rejoice as we now get to see Brexton’s House being built. Over the last 2 years we had faith and believed it would happen and now we are seeing it! That’s how faith works…we believe first and then we see! In John 20:29 Jesus told Thomas, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." Be encouraged today to keep believing “His great and precious promises” and you will see!
